About Our Board
Beverley is Vice President and Senior Financial Center Manager at FirstBank in Smyrna. She has been with FirstBank for four years but has almost 30 years of banking experience. She has a degree from Memphis State University and is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking. Beverley is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Rutherford. She has served on several non-profit boards over the last 30 years. She is originally from Nashville, but she and her husband have lived in Rutherford County for 35 years. She has three grown children and eight grandchildren.
Debbie is a Process Analyst at Ingram Content Group in LaVergne. She brings many years of experience with the United Way as she’s served on the United Way Campaign at Ingram (30 years); United Way allocations committee and was a Red Cross Volunteer. She is currently attending the United Way Catalyst Program. Debbie is the mother of a client, Brandon who has been with Journeys for the past 15 years. Debbie resides in Smyrna with her husband Tim. They also have two other children and 4 grandchildren.
John is a SVP of Commercial Lending with First National Bank of Middle Tennessee. John has been in the banking field for 29 years working in numerous roles pertaining to commercial, small business, and consumer lending. John graduated from UT-Knoxville in 1991 with a BS in Business Administration-Finance. He grew up in Murfreesboro having graduated from Riverdale High School. John is a 2007 Leadership Rutherford Graduate, Paul Harris Fellow, Eagle Scout, and has served in leadership roles with the Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club, Rutherford Co. Heart Association, Jesse Beasley Animal Humane Foundation, Howard’s Hope, and the Business Education Partnership. John is married to wife Lisa, and has 3 daughters (Emma, Leah, and Emma Jean), and dog Sally.
Erica Jones is a client service manager for Franklin Synergy Bank in Murfreesboro. She has been with FSB since 2016 and prior to that worked for First Tennessee Bank, Paul Mitchell the School, Midsouth Bank and Suntrust Bank, where her background in finance began in 1998. Jones moved to Nashville in 1997 to attend Trevecca Nazarene University and subsequently moved to Murfreesboro in 1999. Her parents are Willie and Tamela Sain. She has one sibling, Chasity and a daughter, Jayla.
Ernest is a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He has been married to Peggy Bryant Burgess for 60 years, and they have three children, seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Burgess has a Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee. Ernest retired as Senior Vice-President of Operations with National Healthcare Corporation (NHC) in 1995, and in 2006 was elected Rutherford County Mayor going on to serve in that capacity for 12 years. The Burgesses are active members of North Boulevard Church of Christ.
J.D. Kious is the attorney and president of Lawyers Land & Title and a partner of Kious, Rodgers, Barger, Holder & King, PLLC firm. J.D. graduated from Furman University in 2002 and obtained his law degree at Samford University in 2005. His areas of practice include commercial and residential real estate closings and transactions; loan transactions; 1031 like-kind exchanges; leases; contracts; wills, trusts and probate estates; and corporate transactions, including partnerships, LLCs, for-profit and not-for-profit corporations. J.D. is also a title insurance agent for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and Stewart Title Guaranty Company, and a member of the Rutherford County and Tennessee Bar Associations. He is a trustee of the Oaklands Association, Inc., a current member and past president of the board of directors for the Beesley Animal Foundation, a current member and past chair of the board of directors for Journeys in Community Living, and a 2008 graduate of Leadership Rutherford.
Jodi is the Director of Nursing at TwelveStone Health Partners (formerly Reeves-Sain) and has served the Long-Term Care division partnerships as a Nurse Consultant and customer service liaison for the past 7 years. Prior to TwelveStone, she was a Director of Nursing with National HealthCare for 17 years with much of that time at AdamsPlace. Jodi grew up in Fort Wayne, IN and graduated from Ball State University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Jodi and her husband, Todd, moved to Murfreesboro in 1998. They have 4 children (Megan, Lauren, Connor & Jordon), a son-in-law (Zach), 1 grand-daughter, Callie and another grandchild on the way.
